Significant Cases

Opposed abortion access
June Medical Services v. Russo, Supreme Court
(Abortion Restrictions)
The plaintiffs challenged a Louisiana state law which would have effectively outlawed abortions in the state by requiring doctors performing abortions to have admitting privileges at a state-authorized hospital within 30 miles of the abortion clinic. The Supreme Court ruled that the state law was unconstitutional.
Opposed LGBTQ workplace protections
Bostock v. Clayton County, Supreme Court
(LGBTQ Protections and Workplace Rights)
The Supreme Court determined that federal civil rights law protect LGBTQ employees from discrimination in the workplace.
Opposed protecting workers' collective bargaining rights
Janus v. American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, Supreme Court
(Public Sector Unions)
The Supreme Court held that a state cannot require public sector employees to pay union dues, even if those unions are collectively bargaining on behalf of the employees. The decision nullified fair share provisions which funded union collective bargaining activities.

The Leadership Center for Attorney General Studies (LCAGS) strives to provide important information about each attorney general and their actions. The information provided by LCAGS is not a comprehensive view of each attorney general. Readers should not judge the qualifications of an attorney general based on a few selected actions but should consider the totality of an attorney general's service to their constituents.
