New Jersey AG Matt Platkin: AG Platkin and DEP Commissioner LaTourette Announce Historic Settlement of Up to $450 Million with 3M for Statewide PFAS Contamination
Published: May 19, 2025TRENTON – New Jersey Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin and Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) Commissioner Shawn M. LaTourette announced a landmark settlement of up to $450 million with 3M to resolve the State’s 2019 lawsuits and a Statewide Directive to address damage to the State’s water and other natural resources from dangerous chemicals known as PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances), also commonly referred to as “forever chemicals.”

Hawaii AG Anne Lopez: Governor Green, Attorney General Lopez Announce $700 Million Settlement in Plavix Lawsuit
Published: May 19, 2025HONOLULU – Governor Josh Green, M.D. and Hawaiʻi Attorney General Anne Lopez today announced that the state of Hawai‘i has entered into a $700 million settlement agreement with pharmaceutical giants Bristol-Myers Squibb (BMS) Company and three U.S.-based subsidiaries of French pharmaceutical company Sanofi.

Washington AG Nick Brown: AG Brown co-leads states suing to stop illegal termination of federal electric vehicle infrastructure funding
Published: May 19, 2025SEATTLE — Washington is co-leading a lawsuit to stop the Trump administration from illegally terminating billions in congressionally approved funding for electric vehicle infrastructure – including a combined $1 billion in the plaintiff states, Attorney General Nick Brown announced today. Unless the courts check the president’s overreach, Washington stands to lose over $71 million in electric vehicle infrastructure funding.

Nevada AG Aaron Ford: Attorney General Ford Sues HHS, Sec. Kennedy to Overturn Public Health Grant Cuts
Published: April 24, 2025CARSON CITY — Today, Attorney General Aaron D. Ford joined a coalition of 23 states and the District of Columbia in filing a lawsuitRequest Document Remediation - lawsuit against the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., for abruptly and illegally terminating nearly $12 billion in critical public health grants to the states. If this funding were terminated, local public health authorities and the Nevada State Public Health Laboratory would lose a total of $35 million. In addition, this funding cut would impact the Renown Crisis Stabilization Center in Northern Nevada, as well as other nonprofit and university partners.

New York AG Letitia James: Attorney General James Announces 638 Guns Turned in at Syracuse Gun Buyback
Published: April 24, 2025NEW YORK – New York Attorney General Letitia James today announced that 638 firearms were turned in at a community gun buyback event in Syracuse hosted by the Office of the Attorney General (OAG), the New York State Police, and the Syracuse Police Department. This event was part of Attorney General James’ ongoing effort to combat gun violence and keep New Yorkers safe. To date, Attorney General James has removed more than 9,000 guns from New York state since taking office in 2019.
